2nd Health News

April 11, 2016

Climbers and Family,

I promised to keep you in the loop as I leaned more about my current health issue.

I finally received a call from my doctor this evening informing me of the results from last Monday’s biopsy.  The results came back positive and I’ve been diagnosed with large volume aggressive prostate cancer (9 on the Gleason Scale).  The next step is to do imaging (CT & Bone scan) to determine if the cancer is solely localize to the prostate.  I hope to have this data by early next week.  Based on this new data a plan of treatment will be decided upon. I continue to expect a full recovery in the long term!

I suspect there will be some disruption to my climbing plan for the rest of this month here in Red Rocks, but presently I am unsure as to exactly what that will be.

Thank you all for your offers of support and good wishes.
