On July 26 Mike posted a blog “Where have you been?” Pam Smith wrote a comment about Eddie Aikau, an Hawaiian hero who saved many lives, became a world class surfer and a legend. After Eddie’s death a cult-like following occurred coining the phrase “Eddie Would Go.” Pam, who grew up in Hawaii suddenly felt that Mike was her Eddie! She has been printing the attached photo on sticky back paper and we have been passing the stickers out. Please feel free to print some too!
The picture on the photo is from our ski trip to Crater Lake this past February. Mikey would go…. he pursued his adventures as long as he could.
I can send the jpg to you directly if you have trouble getting it off the website.
Love,
Laurie
Laurie, Mikey will always be my hero and my inspiration.
“Mikey would Go!” That is perfect! I have a feeling that in the very near future, there will be a climbing route named “Mikey would Go!!” I can see him smiling about that.
I had my first “sighting” of a “Mikey Would Go” sticker on Corinne’s car on Monday evening when I was coming back from a ride. Corinne, you didn’t hear me as I yelled as loud as I could “MIKEY WOULD GO”! as you made a right hand turn on 19th. I must admit the uninhibited yell, as loud as I could, brought pure joy and a smile like I’ve not felt for a while. Thank you Pam for doing this fun project.
I think that’s the best mantra/power yell/simple explanation to do the things that make you happy, that I’ve ever heard.
I can’t wait for someone to yell at me when they see it on my car!
–All smiles today…thanks Mikey!
I’m still looking for the “Mikey would go” sticker at Lake Creek….
