It has now been nine days since my second chemotherapy infusion of Summer 2017. Initially, I struggled with a fickle stomach, unable to really enjoy food and that omnipresent, deadening full body fatigue. Presently, I feel a little better and seem to be hanging in there. I attribute this to modern pharmaceuticals, an adept acupuncturist, an undemanding daily schedule and tremendous support from Laurie. I believe I am through the worst of it.
Last weekend, Laurie and I shared a marvelous three days with our dear friends Tim and Pam in Central Oregon. We dined, hiked, exchanged stories, did crossword puzzles and even climbed at Smith Rock together. Upon arriving home, Laurie and I are loving the calm, relaxed, tranquility of our home.
So life continues for us – day by day…………
Happy to hear about your fulfilling get-away. You know, “we search the world looking for something and return home to find it.”
May the peace, love and harmony you and Laurie feel at Kincaid St. continue “from now until infinity and beyond!”
XOXO
Hi Mike,
This is Deborah Meas – Brandon’s mom. He went to Cal Young today to see you as his HS graduation is this weekend and he wanted to say good bye to his favorite teacher. He is going in the Air Force in Aug. he talked with a lady and she told him you had cancer and boy we are all shocked – Not Mike – the most active guy we know. I hope you see this message and feel up to seeing Brandon. He is very worried about you. He has been trying all day to find a way to get a hold of you. We are praying for you and are looking forward to hearing from you .
Had such a blast with Mike and Laurie on our Central Oregon trip. Stretched our legs in the rarefied juniper air of the high desert. Mike pushed Tim’s envelope with a 3 pitch, 500 ft climb at Smith Rocks! We so appreciate Mike and Laurie’s contagious energy and passion. You guys are our rock stars. Love you, Pam
