Despite the fact that I have been away from you all for over a week now, this will be a brief post.
For the past week I have been lost:
– in a wonderland of red rock canyons, deep blue skies and warm sunshine.
– for the words to truly describe this most incredible climbing adventure.
– trying to generate the gratitude to my climbing friends for allowing me this experience.
– finding time to make this post. We hike for hours, climb till late, eat together, tell stories, prepare for the next day of climbing and fall soundly into bed.
– figuring on what body part to put the ice pack at day’s end.
Perhaps the only place where I have NOT been lost (so far) is where to set that next piece of protection to safely continue that climb.
PSA be Damed – We are going CLIMBING!
Go For It (GFI) Mike!! Awesome climb!!
Crush It, Mike!
Love it–We are so happy that you are sharing your wonderful adventure with us. Love Norene and Lloyd
May the sun be at your back and your rope not get caught in a crack!!!!
Love the spirit of this message. Love that the title “Lost” is an ironic device and that it seems you feel more found than ever. Enjoy!
Both photos are amazing…but the one of the three dudes climbing is incredible!
Climb on, Harry….
Ok Mikey, what is the order of the climbers? I take it you are lead man….who’s trailing?
Having fun getting lost, however…be home for dinner! I miss you.
If I’m not mistaken, those three climbers are strangers who were already on that (Dark Shadows) climb when Mike, Alan, Dave and I got there to climb it. We waited at the bottom for them to get further along (and maybe to rest and strategize a bit) before we started up.
Mike, Alan or Dave, please correct me if I’m wrong.
Not quite Bob. Mike is in the extreme upper right corner rappelling. Those are the two fellows from NYC with whom we shared the belay/repel station.
OMG!!! If you are half as psyched in Red Rock than I was reading your post this morning, then spot on Mike. I loved the picture of you all on some face of a rock. Enjoy my friend…Enjoy!!!!!
Wow! You are amazing and inspirational.
